
We believe the primary goal for Saint Joseph School is the faith formation of students who witness the Gospel of Jesus Christ and who perpetuate peace and social justice in our world.

The religion curriculum provides the student with the teachings and values of the Catholic Church, with opportunities to develop a life of prayer, and with an undersanding of the Mission of the Church. In addition, by integrating and modeling our Catholic values throughout the general curriculum, the major disciplines provide the student with the academic skills to meet the challenges of daily living in Christ. Within their appropriate grade levels, each student will:
- Recognize and explain the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Describe and formulate a life of prayer
- Support the mission of the Church
- Apply an understanding of morally sound conduct, based on Catholic values
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic skills and concepts in the major disciplines -
- Apply analytical and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrate oral and written communication skills
- Evaluate the complexity and intricacy of the natural world
- Recognize significance of past events and discuss their effect on the present and the future
- Develop an appreciation of the fine arts - music, art, drama, dance, etc.
- Communicate a positive attitude towards the care of his/her body
- Evaluate, interpret and prioritize information in problem solving and decision making processes
- Demonstrate independence and self-direction with studies and develop a life-long love of learning
- Develop sensitivity of ethnic and multi-cultural differences within communities
- Develop a sense of stewardship toward the earth and its resources.
