APPLICATION PROCESS

Thank you very much for your interest in St. Joseph Jr-Sr High School Before one can be accepted by the school, the following application process must be followed:
  1. Complete the APPLICATION FORM. A tuition deposit of $250.00 is required immediately upon acceptance.
  2. A PLACEMENT TEST as well as follow-up INTERVIEW must be scheduled with an administrator through the school secretary.
  3. A TESTING FEE of $20.00 must be paid before the administration of the test. (n.b. If HSPT, SSAT, SRA or SAT scores are available, please make these available to the school for review.)
  4. Submit a copy of BIRTH CERTIFICATE.
  5. Submit a copy of BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATE (if Roman Catholic). Catholics must certify through letter or certificate that they are members of a Catholic parish.
  6. Three CONFIDENTIAL TEACHER REPORTS must be completed and submitted by the applicant's present teachers and mailed directly to the school by the respective teachers.
  7. An up-to-date REPORT CARD and TRANSCRIPT showing all credits earned must be provided to the school.
  8. Prior to final acceptance, a TUITION CONTRACT must be signed with the school. Payments must be made to the Business Office according to the agreed upon schedule.
  9. All applicants must submit their HEALTH RECORDS (including compliance with the State health requirements concerning TB test) as well as a RELEASE CARD from the respective applicant's former school upon acceptance. Health record must show immunization report. Students without proper health records may not enter school.
  10. For INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:
    • St Joseph does not have a boarding facility. However, HOMESTAY families may be available. At present, cost of room and board is approximately $700 per month. Arrangements must be made between families. The school is not responsible for homestay arrangements.
    • An international student must have a LEGAL GUARDIAN who is a local resident.
    • The school must be presented with a written statement as to who is responsible for the tuition and other school expenses. (Required for INS I-20). Included also must be the name, address and phone number of the appointed guardian.
    • All VISA requirements must be met.
    • MEDICAL INSURANCE is required in case of illness or injury. Parents of applicant are responsible for medical insurance and personal expenses.
    • English as a Second Language (ESL) is a full-year course. ESL is a required course for international students. There is a $1,000 fee for the ESL course.
